What a great reminder! I needed to hear this today. I spoke to a dear old friend yesterday who I haven't spoken to in a while and when explaining that I'm sober, I referred to myself as boring. Now, she doesn't feel that at all and thinks its great. This was a good reminder that I am anything but boring for making this choice! It would be boring if I continued on the same path that was leading me nowhere. Thanks Mia : )
I absolutely love this advice. I feel the same way when I’m around women who constantly apologize when no apology is warranted. I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry---I want to scream stop f-ing apologizing for nothing. Choosing not to drink alcohol requires so much strength and courage in today’s alcohol obsessed culture. We should look in the mirror everyday and say “great job.” Thanks for all the great information and advice. I love it all.
I LOVE that book! And thank you for this. Because I still make fun of myself and play small around others and my choice to live AF, because I worry they will think I’m judging them for drinking. I don’t want to make them feel uncomfortable.
Wtf am I doing??!!! NO MORE. (I’m sober 7 years in one month).
Absolutely love this!!
I'm glad you did :) xx Mia
