INTRO: due to the intimacy of the group, I rerecorded the intro to make it more general for anyone who may be listening to the recording.
CLASS: Live and unedited recording of the breathwork and body scan class on 11/26/22
I have been doing breathwork for several years now. I fell in love with it back in NYC the year I quit drinking. It was the first thing that gave me the most beautiful natural high that I have ever experienced. Way more than any glass of champagne ever did!
When I offer these breathwork sessions, I generally don’t like to go into detail on what you should expect in a session only because every person’s experience will be different and what you may already know or will soon learn that each individual experience can differ. So even if you’ve done it 40 times, you probably had 40 different experiences, and nothing was exactly the same. Even as I lay down to practice, I invite in whatever will serve me best at that moment. I may set an intention, but I always allow space for what may need to come up and out. I learned many years ago that I am not in control of what needs releasing, but nothing will happen that I can’t handle.
Two contraindications to note:
Pregnancy. We don’t want to hold our breath in any way while pregnant, nor do we want to lower carbon dioxide in the body. You can, however, join in with slow, long deep breathing.
Lack of a support system – Anyone with a history of trauma, especially trauma that has not yet been addressed, may want to have someone in their life they can talk to after any of these types of breathwork sessions. The idea of scheduling a therapy session or meeting a trusted friend for tea after a breathwork session is probably one of the best things we could do to process the experience.
As much as these online groups can be healing. When the class is over and zoom is closed, it is ideal to have someone available.
Always feel free to contact me before or after to discuss this further.
I love to hear from you after you have tried these classes/recordings. Let me know how it goes. Let me know how I can support you and the integration of this powerful life tool.
XX, Mia
Wow, ok I finally did this today. What an experience! I had the tetany and lobster claw hands which did kind of freak me out during the session but I didn’t resist it. I had a release of tears and sobbing for the last few minutes and the body scan afterward was so nice. How often do you recommend doing a session?
Thank you for sharing this with us!
