The Sober Glow Studio is an extension of what was started on social media circa 2016. As I have evolved, the topics I cover have naturally evolved. Here, I provide stories, recommendations, and resources on the art of living an alcohol-free lifestyle, navigating health & midlife, and anything that simply feels good.
I am liking this idea of a short playlist to set the mood for each newsletter.
I am gifting myself a month off of social media for Dry January. And by gifting, I mean I am forcing myself to unclench the death grip it seemingly has on me, even if it doesn’t seem like I use it that much. It’s a damn hard thing to stay away from, and I am just as addicted to scrolling other people’s lives and sweet dog memes as the rest of society is. I am also plenty guilty of wasting my time by giving hours of my life to the same voyeuristic tendencies we so often accuse others of exhibiting.
Though it’s not alcohol that I am focusing on staying away from, I will be treating it just the same. Instead of going about this in a manner of losing something, I am directing my attention on all the extra time and space that will be cleared up without the constant checking of the blue-light, black-crack screen.
