I have learned a thing or two as I have gotten older.
I don’t always like going to events, but I always appreciate being invited. Having solid friendships that can handle the ebbs and flows of individuals' needs is essential. My partner doesn’t have to hear or know all of my gripes. Pretty much nothing tops a good night’s sleep. Alcohol will never do me any favors. I do not always have to have the right answer, or answer for that matter. Having the ability to sit with myself in the quiet, without distractions, is a powerful skill that should be practiced daily. And being surrounded by women of all ages is one of the greatest growth opportunities around.
This weekend, I am sharing an excellent podcast with one of the most unique women I have come across online. I guarantee this one podcast will send you down a rabbit hole of daily movement practices, cold-water exposure, female friendships, finding your own joy, and the power of living a big, adventurous life.
I have only met Libby online and not in person, but I can say if given the chance, I would 1000% jump into a cold lake with her….or tag along on any one of her outrageous adventures.

I have been following Libby on IG for a few years now, and she has been one of my greatest expanders. I am completely fascinated by everything she does, the adventures she takes, and the tangible female empowerment she exudes. Her cold water escapades and daily walk commitment are what legends are made of. She wrote a book, Do Walk, started modeling in her 60s (her silver hair is absolutely gorgeous), has a podcast with Alex Elle titled This Morning Walk, and is releasing her second book, Cold Joy, this month.
She is everything inspirational and aspirational that one would want in an expander and the beauty of aging—or, as she describes it, simply living.
I am totally stealing two writing practices she describes in this episode. Her monthly dream lists, where she writes down what could be the best that could happen in six different areas of her life that month.
Then at the end of every month, she writes out - What did I learn this month?
Oh, and I absolutely loved how she describes this year as her Beta Year.

It seems obvious, but we need reminding. We have two ways of thinking of ourselves as we age. We can beat ourselves up, while constantly ridiculing our body, our life, our everything, or we can accept, love, and nourish this absolute miracle that we are alive right now, in these bodies, at this time.
