Mia! I love to read your writing. I am forever indebted to you for creating this space, one that I've leaned into over the years and has also given me to opportunity to meet you in person in Baja. I can hear your voice as I read each piece of writing you put out and it makes my heart so happy (and also yes brimming with tears as I write this thinking about the Sober Glow experience in Baja).
I wanted to tell you that last weekends Weekender inspired me to create a Book Club amongst my local girlfriends. We are all so excited and most of us have never actually been in a book club.
Also, similar to what you shared, this past week I was thinking about my sobriety and how my in my 20's drinking self would never believe that I'm now a non drinker. I used to look and sober people and honestly think "Ew." Truly. How sad. But, now I understand that everything I sought through drinking is here on the other side. :)
CARALYN! I adore you and thank you so much for this sweet message. And I am so happy you started a book club, so much fun! Sitting in a room with other women talking is something I think we forget is so vital for our continued growth.
Also, I will never forget talking shit about the audacity of getting to the old age of 28! Unbelievable - and it's so wild to see it in younger women now as well
