Nourish: Spring Feelings 2024
A new take on an old favorite drink, spicy mango tuna, and the best meatballs ever.
Dearest reader, wherever you are, I can not pretend to have anything remotely intelligent to say in regard to the actions that are taking place in the world right now and all the feelings that we are feeling. In light of the happenings in the world, a lot of things are frivolous, including this newsletter.
Nourish yourself and your loved ones with the things that matter most to you. For me, being here is one of those things.

The Sober Glow Studio is an extension of what was started on social media circa 2016. As I have evolved, the topics I cover have naturally evolved. Here, I provide stories, recommendations, and resources on the art of living an alcohol-free lifestyle, navigating health & midlife, and anything that simply feels good.
SUNNY VIBES PLAYLIST
*As per Joe, Murder On The Dancefloor is the “most Mia song ever.”
Historically, when I pick a word for the year, it typically fades out by March. However, last year's word was community, and I lived up to that one all year with my focus being on my female friendships which included multiple amazing girls’ trips as well as new and surprising lifelong connections having been made.
My word for this year feels different. It feels necessary. Nourish, and all the variations of the word: nourishment, nourished, nourishing, they all feel really good right now. It feels like a word that was made with those easy, breezy sunny days.
As we are all coming off MDW and I personally am just off a three-day stint in the hospital, I typically reserve the day after a string of long working days to guiltlessly rest and recover. Originally, I was going to meet a girlfriend at the beach, but SoCals weather is a finicky bitch. We had a long Facetime catch-up instead. After the chat, I was still feeling a bit disappointed that the much needed beach day wasn’t happening; I knew I wasn’t going to shake it until I brought that sunny, ocean air-induced, relaxed spirit into my home.
Plus, you have to love Instagram when it serves you up a timely but old article from 2021 all about my once-go-to summertime drink, the sparkling red wine Lambrusco Spritz. So, I thought it totally appropriate and necessary to create a new drink for the season.
I picked up a couple of NA bottles to play around with and then grabbed a bunch of citrus, not only for the spritz but also for a spicy mango tuna ceviche that I have been craving. Again, totally necessary for lifting the spirits.
