Hi all,
Thank you to those who joined in live for our first Happy Hour last Saturday. The first part was a Q&A (recorded and posted above), and the second part was a community catch-up and chat (not recorded). This special live meet-up was for the paid subscribers of the Feel Good Studio. However, I wanted to share the Q&A recording with all subscribers of this substack newsletter.
For right now, we will be test-driving these Happy Hour meet-ups each Saturday at 4 pm (pacific time) for the month of January. If you would like to join in, you can upgrade your subscription to become a paying member of the Feel Good Studio.
If you would like to send in a question that you wanna discuss, you can do so via the comment section below, email directly (mia@thesoberglow.com) or DM me on IG. I have a nice running list going for us.
See you this Saturday, Jan 14th, at 4:00 pm (pacific) for the next Happy Hour!
SHOW NOTES

Trova Trip - I think the idea of this is great, and it would be incredibly easy as a host. However, it may be a bit too generic for me and not at all my aesthetic, vibe, or energy. But hey, never say never.
If you or anyone you know would like to talk about possibly assisting with my next retreat, shoot me a detailed email and explanation of why you are interested and any experience you may have that would make this a great fit. Mia@thesoberglow.com (must be sober for a minimum of two years).
This is the sauna blanket I have, love, and highly recommend if you are in the market. I do not recommend anything else. Read this from Clearlight sauna, the company that Higher Dose worked with when designing their products.
I wear thick sweats and socks when I use the blanket. I clean the blanket after every single use. I also use a towel inside that I lay on and then put a thick blanket over the sauna wrap. This allows me to get a great sweat without a burned ass. Yes, it gets that hot! 0-9 temp range. I stick with 7-8.
Shape House in Santa Monica. Chillhouse in New York. Honestly, just google your city. There are facilities everywhere offering some form of an infrared sauna.
I explored many, many sites on the topic of fed vs fasting workouts. And the questioner is right, the results are conflicting. Very conflicting! So as of right now, I still stand with what I talk about in the video. Do what feels best for you. Listen, most of us are not elite athletes :), and due to my own experience with this - overthinking the little things, like fed vs fasting or what is the best tracker, shoes, or gear is time away from just getting out there and moving our bodies. So do what feels best for you and your movement practice!
On developing healthy habits around food. My number one resource to share always - Atomic Habits by James Clear. On another note, consider creating a morning routine that is soothing, healthy, and feels good to you. I find that the earlier in the day that I can start focusing on healthy habits and making choices that feel good, the more I will want to carry that behavior throughout the day.
I feel we could spend days on the “sugar thing.” Are you familiar with Sarah Wilson of I Quit Sugar? or Dr. David Perlmutter?
As always, I hope you found something of value here. Hope to see you and get to know you in one of our live meet-ups!
XX, Mia
