Thank you for being here! If you are new here, please allow me to recap what’s been happening. I announced this new platform newsletter in July and the response has been so lovely. Substack was created for writers. Now I love writing, but I don’t necessarily call myself a writer. I prefer to be known as a guide. Someone who likes to resource and who shares the goods and who gives amazing tips and tricks. Like a big sister who has been around the block or a scrappy and resourceful little sister. I am a perpetual student, and my favorite pastime is to jump down rabbit holes on anything that I find interesting. Sometimes this knowledge is only good for dinner party entertainment, and some of it is for sharing and getting the word out. This is my way of getting the word out. I am using substack for an interactive way of engaging with the community. So along with writing, I will also be using the platform for workshops, book club chats, live talks, and anything else I may fancy. You know how everyone had a “course” these past couple of years…..well substack newsletters are the new course.
There are two parts to this newsletter. The first is the normal newsletter that I have had for a few years now. I never used that means of communicating all that much, and so now I am finding myself really shaking the dust off it (thanks for sticking with me). Having seen and felt the changes from our once beloved IG (I don’t know if you felt this way, but for me, IG was once a wonderful means of communication), I felt called to start writing in a more intimate place where there are no algorithms and non-stop ads for products that were never searched for but were topics of conversations that were had by my phone. Eerie. But I digress.
Part one of this substack platform is my regular newsletter. Going forward, I will only be sending out a monthly round-up email with what was shared on the platform that month (this alleviates you from getting blasted with tons of emails). In addition to the monthly round-up, I’ll also be sharing your stories. The idea of getting to share your words and a piece of your world that may be all too familiar to all of ours feels just right. So before I even begin sharing them, let me thank you for them. Thank you!
Check out this post for those details on sharing your story:
Part two of this newsletter is known as The Feel Good Studio. This is the upgraded version. The monthly fee is $9. I know when I first heard of this back in 2019, I balked at the idea of a paid newsletter. Now, I think it’s one of the most brilliant things. This platform allows for direct connection with the people we want to hear and see, the voices we truly want to connect with, and in a beautiful way off the socials. It also alleviates all the problems with the open to all social media pages, and with this, I know that the people who sign up truly want to be here, and that feels good. In fact, it feels f*cking great. And this feeling has reinspired me to do what I do best: resource, guide, share and hopefully empower other women to live a life that feels good.
So on that note, check out the happenings so far and what’s to come next month.
XX,
Mia
